ENVIRONMENTAL DECISION SUPPORT MODELING
| Groundwater & Contaminant Transport | |

We use the best tools for your job. For most projects, the best tool is GMS (Groundwater Modeling System, US DOD), which combines the latest finite-difference and particle tracking models such as MODFLOW, MODPATH, MT3D, etc. with powerful GIS tools and 2-D and 3-D visualization capabilities. For more complex problems, we will utilize the more powerful finite-element models such as FEMWATER or FEFLOW, and if necessary, we have the skills and experience required to develop custom numerical modeling solutions. In all cases, our modeling procedures and reporting formats adhere to the most recently published ASTM standards. |

| Real World Complexities | |
| Real-world complexities present great challenges to modelers. Many times, sites involving immiscible or variable-density fluids, mineral-surface reactions, reaction kinetics, or highly anisotropic permeability, require a multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving. Hazlett-Kincaid remains on the cutting edge of research in these areas through constant literature review and relationships with research universities and laboratories world-wide. We currently handle reactive transport models that address multiple reactions and their daughter products with MT3D and RT3D. We are currently developing a new method of modeling flow through highly anisotropic karst aquifers by combining the capabilities of EarthVision® (Dynamic Graphics, Inc.) and FEFLOW (WASY). In every case, our modeling capabilities will increase your understanding of complexities like reactive flow or karst and ultimately hasten site clean-ups. |

| Enhance Your Data | |
| Why
depend solely on map overlays to develop aquifer and site characterizations?
Hazlett-Kincaid can provide geometrically valid 3-D models of the subsurface
that will allow you to more rapidly and accurately determine hydrogeologic
relationships. Our solids and groundwater flow models allow you to visualize
field data in 3-D and predict flow paths, resulting in the best possible
placement of wells used for characterization of the vertical and horizontal
extent of a contaminant plume. Once a site enters the remediation stage,
our modeling approach will show you where are the optimal locations for recovery
wells. Rather than presenting reams of Excel plots and huge tables of
numbers, convince clients and regulators with 2-D and 3-D visualizations
instead. Our comprehensive groundwater flow and fate and transport models
can output results as images and animations that will make the impact you
need.
Our models save you time. In the long term, our models serve as easy access databases that allow quick retrieval of important information in easy to understand visual formats. When necessary, our models become the best platform from which to update site conceptualizations to address newly discovered complexities or problems. |
